Dave, with his messy mop of hair and faded band tees, was the epitome of the ’90s coder stereotype. He waited with bated breath each month for the thud of his nerdy computer magazine landing on his doorstep. This relic of print was his lifeline to the digital frontier, a compass in the ever-evolving tech jungle. He had plunged headfirst into this world, inspired by the cinematic brilliance of “War Games” that he had chanced upon during a late-night movie binge with his old man. He still chuckles thinking about how that random movie night might’ve just charted the course of his life.

Its specs made his cherished Pentium III seem like a relic from the Flintstones’ era. The term “the cloud” no longer meant fluffy white things in the sky; it was where everything, from data to software, resided. Dave felt like he’d been thrown into the deep end of a tech ocean without a life jacket.

Bewildered, Dave met Mia, a developer who seemed straight out of a sci-fi movie. Sensing Dave’s confusion, Mia decided to guide him through this brave new world.

Mia pulled out her smartphone and began showcasing its wonders. “This,” she said pointing to the sleek device, “has more processing power than an entire 90s office full of computers.” Wide-eyed, Dave watched as the tiny gadget wasn’t just for calls but a multifunctional tool: from capturing high-res photos and videos to editing documents and crafting graphics on the go. He remembered the days when different devices were needed for each task: a camera for photos, a recorder for audios, and his PC for writing or coding. Mia…
